Angel in a Foxhole (Smoky the Therapy Dog) is based upon the true story of Smoky, the tiny Yorkshire Terrier named "Mascot of the Southwest Pacific" by YANK Magazine during WWII.

While serving the U.S. Army Air Force in photo-reconnaissance, provenance would soon remove Smoky from a deep and dirty foxhole in Nadzab, New Guinea to Corporal Wynne's loving arms, care and guidance.

Smoky began her informal service at a U.S. Army military hospital in Nadzab overseen by Dr. Charles W. Mayo when Corporal Wynne was hospitalized with dengue fever. She later joined American Red Cross nurses on hospital rounds in Manila, Philippines and Brisbane, Australia.

Post-war, Smoky continued to provide comfort to the injured and emotionally-impaired, visiting hospitals and orphanages. She appeared with Bill Wynne on live weekly television in Cleveland, and at county fairs and sporting events where she entertained thousands. Her extraordinary life was captured fully in William A. Wynne's book, Yorkie Doodle Dandy.

By purchasing this coloring book and CD combo, you can listen to the original short film soundtrack of Angel in a Foxhole while applying your coloring skills to 15 pages of stills from this touching and inspiring 2019 film.
